Improve Your Memory .
Watch Jeopardy every day for a year or more and play along. Make six-by-five grids so that you can mark, and then improve, your skills and weaknesses.
Be able to score $28,000 or more most days; then you can audition if you want to. It's not a good idea to audition when you don't. Up the number $4,000 or $6,000 if you get nervous easily.
Know: Languages, literature, Shakespeare, U.S. presidents, capitals, religons, artists, history, composers and geography. To a lesser extent, know pop culture and sports.

Read the question faster than Alex Trebek.
Despite what people tell you, press the buzzer after Alex finishes speaking, not after a light goes on. After that, keep on pressing it.

Lots of questions are in the format of: A (nationality) (occupation.) For example Ismael Kadare is an Albanian novelist. Have a friend test you on this kind of stuff.
People will be loud when the show is being filmed. Hold a radio by you as you practice to get used to this.
