Well, I appreciate your attempt at helping. The problem here, is one I had found prior, but managed to fix that one. This one is different in as much as I have attemped many different methods to fix it. I changed the descripion page, then I changed the picture title, I have done everything I can think of. I know that the permission has nothing to do with it, but I tried. thats why you found so many attempts..they are all the one picture. I went over to another picture, to see if that one attributed correctly, but again, it did not!..so I left it, sent Jack email, and went on to edit another article, and will return to that one.

I think I figured out the problem. its the images on that particular site. I tried to download another image, from another article on that particular web site and got the same response. I do not think they are pictures. I had no problem with any other web sites, except theirs.

Well, I finally found out why I was not able to attribute from these two sites. These that I had attempted to attribute are not pictures, thus they will not allow it to be copied. I did the same exact thing on one of their 'pictures', and I had no trouble with the attribute or permission granted.

yes I know..I just put it anyplace, to test it. I did not work with that article as of yet...I just wanted to see if I were able to attribute it..

Thank you, Lillian. I see your point. I have made a note on the "Defend Yourself Against a Bad Boss" how-to page requesting that one of the links you removed be restored. I read the external links guidelines to which you referred me and I believe this link is in compliance--the how-to is taken from that Web page and the page provides an example of the memo suggested in the how-to, thereby enriching the experience for the reader--in fact, there are four pages of free advice on that Web site to help people deal with this type of situation--it is not there just for commercial purposes.

Please let me know if I have misread the external links guidelines.

For the Bad Boss article, were the links removed because they all linked to the same website? I thought this was the reason, so I only "restored" one of the links. If there was another reason, sorry, I jumped to conclusions.

btw, I have just mentioned it to Jack, and to Tom, I am pulling out of catagorizing the Teens..for a few reasons. The main reason is that it is too difficult to determine, what article is for what catagory. ex. Prom, could be dance, or school, or dating, or makeup, .......school locker, could be teen, or college, or preteen,

the list is endless. I guess that is why John never pursued it. I think its easier for broad catagories. So I think perhaps TeenSite should just stay and put all teen stuff together.

Thank you so much for changing the titles and format. I had initially planned to put everything into one article, but it was entirely too long, yet I couldn't see how it might be divided into just two. Three ended up being too many, but I couldn't change it. I think you did a terrific job of turning the entire thing into two parts.

I'll look for a few terrific photos to add to the articles. I think I have a few in my online wedding scrapbook that would fit nicely.

Clearly there is a need for definitions here...First of all, my article on small dogs is not sarcastic, it is satorical. There is a world of difference. Second, I have read and re-read the rules, and can't find a rule against satire or humor anywhere in them, Could you point me to that rule? I would be happy to abide by it. Thanks!

What is appears to me is that one person who is offended by humor, has complained, after adding a warning that I find to be CLEAR valdalism.

Obviously, this article cannot be modified to remove the humor as it is 100% a tongue-in-cheek humorous article, satirizing the dog advice columns that suggest such behaviour. I will place it elsewhere...heaven knows there is no shortage of places to put it. But I really question the motivation for the reaction...it seems to be all about someone who is just looking for something to complain about (Not you...the original whiner)

Hi Lillian I've read some of your wikihows so felt I recognise you most amongst the name mentioned on this page..I've just started on wikihow a few months ago and today I posted my second article.

My request is that you should have a category called "Workplace". The one I wrote in was a workplace related subject and I found it hard to categorise it-so I just put it in Öthers" but it didn't feel right.The workplace is such a vital part of our lives that there is so much one can write about it. I would think the sub categories could be

-Relationships-boss/colleagues -Workplace Behaviour -Work wear -Work-life balance

...and many more.

Do please consider it. I want to write so much more but most are related to the office, as I am a full time working person.And I am sure there are many more like me.

If it is the same troll, his method has been to contact someone that is not familiar with his deleted edits, lie to them and act like he does not know anything about it.

Do you know if there are copyright issues with including a photo from an online retailer if a hyperlink is provided to the item for potential purchase (since this is, in a sense, free advertising for them)? I am hoping this is not an issue, because I think that the image significantly adds to the quality of the correlated "Tip" in the article, and I hope it will not be necessary to delete it.

I am glad you are in a position to do that......I deleted that request very hastily. Normally I consider very carefully to evaluate the answer before I delete the request. If the topic is questionnable in the first place, I will proceed with the deletion of the request even if we got a joke answer (because otherwise we will just end up attracting another joke answer). But yours was indeed a very good request and when I finally did review the answer, I was thinking we might have to resubmit your request so that we might get a fuller answer.

It appears anything from "group.yahoo.com is flagged as spam. I just edited out the links you have put in your user page referring to addresses at that location.

It is a shame that places like yahoo and Blogspot have to be blacklisted, but they get blacklisted when some one used a website from there as spam.

I understand Versageek has a way to allow your specific website at that location to be excluded from the blacklist, but I don't know how she does it.
