Congratulations on Becoming a wikiHow Author
Congratulations! You have made your first handful of edits on wikiHow and are now a co-author of our shared how-to manual. Of the millions of people who read wikiHow every month, very few overcome their initial fear of participation to make it this far. I, and the other volunteer editors here hope you will continue editing and help us fulfill our mission of building a complete, high quality, multilingual how-to manual. Again, congratulations on becoming a wikiHow author!

If you read the "article"... It appears that's all there is. If it were an introduction of some sort, a beginning of an article, an explanation why there was not more, then that would do fine. It isn't, though. The one sentence provided will not do for an article, and I'm not going to pretend it will. Instances where people write in little bits like that happen all the time- if the author wishes to get back to it, they have seven days to do so. If they, themselves, provide any reasoning they intend to get back to the article, I will happily remove the NFD and have absolutely best wishes for the article.

Hi. Thanks for the info. The other article was created in April 2007 and was recently re-titled (yesterday) as per a suggested title change. I'm assuming you have both covered the same topic. You could use Do-a-Quick-and-Dirty-Merge-of-wikiHow-Articles to merge that article into yours. Is your title accurate? We could re-title when you are finished. To give you time to think about this I will add an In Use tag to your article to hold any merging done by others.

Your article is still stuck in a curious maze of redirects, am still looking. Do you have a local copy of it? Not that we'll need it, but it would be a quick fix.

Your article is currently living here: http://www.wikihow.com/Change-Colors-and-Set-Paths-%26amp%3B-Aliases-in-Your-Startup-File
To keep your attribution as the orignal author we will need to do things a bit manually now. Could you create a blank article with the target name of your choice (no forward slashes this time please, it made things interesting). Then we will copy your content in from the old. (I can do this, or you can, the easiest way is to use Advanced Editing where you can select and copy all in one go.)

Hm.... I don't know what's going on either. I know we've had weird issues with the site for a week or so now... but I didn't expect it to manifest with this sort of problem.
Don't panic about the NFD tag. Just post your reasons for keeping the article(s) on the discussion page(s) and that will be enough to save them when they get reviewed in a week or so.
I only came to notice the articles when I was going down the list of articles which needed title changes. When I tried to change the title of one, the website told me that the proposed title already existed... and would I like to delete it to make way for the one I was renaming? I clicked no and returned to the article to change the title tag to an NFD for duplicate based on that information.
I'll post this issue in the Tech Feedback area of the forum... Jack and Travis need to know about this.

Hey! I saw that you article on how to Be a National Delegate (USA) was nominated for featuring. I tried to help by adding some information based on some sources I found online, but I wanted to check some things with you. The types of delegates--are they the same for both parties? And the precinct convention--does it take place right after the primary election in both parties, in all states? Or is that info specific to the Texas Republican party? It'd be great if we could add more details from sources--that tends to increase the article's chances of getting chosen for featuring. Let me know what you think!
Also, I saw on this talk page that you might be having issues with duplicates and titles. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!

Hey! Thanks for clarifying!
The information on the types of delegates, I got from the democratic convention website: http://www.demconvention.com/how-to-become-a-delegate/ If they do not use "add on" delegates, why would they list them on their site?
I deliberately added one piece of information from the Democratic source, and one piece of information from the Republican source, so it wouldn't look like I was trying to push the article in any one direction. From your note, it sounds like you wrote the article primarily for Democratic delegates--if so, should we change the title?
Either way, it's obvious that the topic is way more complicated than I thought! Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this!

When an article is NFD for duplicate, a note on the Discussion page is sufficient to list the matching article -- it does not have to be in the NFD tag itself. Since you have to go to the Discussion page to vote anyway, it isn't even an extra click.

Hi!
Yes, it's difficult to convey the fingers touching a flat surface if you take the pictures from above the hands. Another way to do it would be to circle the fingers that are touching the flat surface. The images of the fully extended hands can be copied, have the correct fingers circled, and uploaded to replace the existing pictures for that number. Would this be worth doing?

| I've noticed that you've been replying to messages you have received from other contributors on your own talkpage.
When you leave a message on your own talkpage, the person to whom you are writing will probably never see your message. |
|
|
| Just hit reply to _____(editor's name) at the bottom of their message before you send your next message, and use the box at the bottom of the page that comes up to reply.
This way, the person you are writing to will find your message on his or her talkpage and will be able to read it and respond. |

Hey Carterchas,
I've noticed you have been notifing people that you have NFD'd their article, and that is exactly correct. I want to show you something you may have not known. If you put the same NFD tag on someones talkpage as you put on their article it will automatically generate a message. Here is how:
Type {{nfd|not|date=~~#}} and you will get this after you send it.
Thanks for writing a new article here! I and others appreciate that you took the time to contribute your knowledge to our shared how-to manual.
Unfortunately, I'm writing to let you know that the article has been nominated for deletion because it does not appear to be an instructional, step-by-step how-to manual. Read our Deletion Policy for details on why we delete articles that aren't actual how-to based articles.
The article will be under community review for 1 week before any final deletion decision is made. If you would like to save your article from deletion, you can spend this time to transform it into a how-to article.
Reread our Writer's Guide for a few tips. You may also want to suggest a title change, if the title is a problem.
After expanding and improving the article, be sure to explain that you have done this on the article discussion page. That will help decrease the chance that your article gets deleted.
I hope this in no way discourages you here. Learning how to write a good wikiHow article can be a little tricky. Stick with us and keep contributing. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out here.

I don't get how my "How to Eat Fast Food the Right Way" article isn't a "How-To" Step-by-Step article.

I am working on a project for class and need the entire directions as they are. I will be adding pictures this weekend to go along with the instructions. I appreciate your imput but would prefer no further changes be made until I have completed my project. Thank you for adding the in progress tab to my site.
