I am an amateur investor who loves to write about the market. I have been blogging for about six years, for the last 2 1/2 at Stock Picks Bob's Advice and have recently started podcasting which can be found at the same name as well as at iTunes if you search under podcasts.

It is my interest to restore some rationality to the investing that I do, and I love to share my thoughts and my analysis and enter into discussions about how we can do this logically!

One of my basic philosophies about investing is that one needs to be a good observer of stocks to know what to do. Observation may often be more helpful than "thinking" when it comes to managing your investments. Choose a stock because it is appreciating in price, not because it should appreciate. Sell a stock because it is declining in price, not because it is "overvalued". Let your own portfolio actions determine future portfolio structure. When your own stocks are doing well, expand your exposure to equities and when your portfolio is doing poorly, make sure you are moving assets into cash.

Since I am an amateur, please be sure to consult with your professional investment advisors prior to making any investment decisions based on information on this website!

Please comment here if you have any suggestions or I can be reached at my email address at bobsadviceforstocks@lycos.com.
