- Use a large plastic bowl and pour steaming water into it. Adding oils such as eucalyptus, menthol or inhalant oils gives a better result.
- Put a towel over your head and the bowl. This ensures all of the steam stays in the bowl and enables a better result.
- Breathe in the steam, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
- It might be a bit hot at first but that is when it works best. Do this process for about 10 minutes.
- Uncover the towel and breathe in and out gently.
- This process will need to be repeated to get the best results( ideally once everyday).
- When you are going under the towel for the first time, move in slowly because the water is going to be extremely hot.
- Adding oils does enable better results. For tips on which oils contact your local pharmacist.
- It is compulsory that you do this method in a plastic bowl because if you were to do it in a bathroom sink for example the steaming, boiled water may crack the basin.

- Be careful when pouring the kettles water into the bowl, that it doesn't splash back onto you - pour slowly.
