Did you just get a new puppy? Getting a new puppy is a very exciting time, they are very energetic and playful. Even through all this excitement you have to remember the responsibilities that comes with a puppy, like taking your puppy out for a walk. Here's an article on how to start walking with your puppy.
[edit] Steps
- Hold the puppy in your arms and connect the leash to it's collar, but not too tight.
- Take the puppy out side and put him on the ground and let him sniff around so he will get use to you taking the same route next time you walk him.
- While you're walking and he is sniffing around, you need to find a short route to take because he is a little puppy. If he starts to sniff again, he might have to use the bathroom so you turn around and take him back home.
- If he dosen't want to turn around, you have to tug on his leash but not too hard so you won't choke him. Walk back home and let him pee out side.
- Take him back in and play with him. Now you are all done with your morning schedule!
[edit] Tips
- Your puppy might be a little shy when first going out to walk, so make arrangements with a friend who is willing to walk with you guys to help get your puppy used to strangers.
