How to Make a Snow Globe
Snow globes are fun to play with and easy to make. They're a great, simple craft to do on a rainy afternoon.
[edit] Steps
- Find a clear empty jar with a cap on it. Glass jars work better than plastic ones.
- Fill the jar with water until there is only an inch left. You can add glitter, beads or other small, fun items. On the inside of the cap glue on a small figurine, for example, a plastic animal. Make sure the glue is dry before going on to the next step.
- Secure the top onto the jar tightly.
- Flip over and shake for the snow globe effect. Enjoy!
[edit] Tips
- If your jar has a label, soaking or running the jar under hot water loosens the label, making it easier to peel off.
- It can also be fun to dye the water with food coloring.
- Some fun things to have as your main object are small plastic dolls and animals or pieces from Monopoly or other board games.
[edit] Warnings
- If you choose to dye the water with food coloring, make sure you use light colors, not blue and green or you won't be able to see into your snow globe.
