How to Make a Hot Pad
How to make an Icy Hot imitation... cheaper, faster, and right in your home! Once you've done this, you will be faster, stronger, bigger, oh and hopefully you feel better also.
[edit] Steps
[edit] Method 1, quick and dirty
- Get a microwavable bowl. This means NOT metal.
- Fill bowl with water and microwave it for 1 minute.
- Get a washcloth, and dip it in the boiling water.
- Apply hot pad where needed.
[edit] Method 2, method 1 long version
- Fill a plastic zip lock back with a wet hand towel that is folded to fit inside the zip lock bag or 3 wet wash cloths that are spread open to fit inside a one gallon zip lock bag.
- Start to "lock" the zip lock until it is almost locked. At this point suck out any remaining air inside. Think vacuum-pack.
- Microwave the bag in the microwave. Microwave it for a single minute, then re-check it and flip it. Keep repeating this process until it is thoroughly warmed.
- Apply hot pad where needed.
[edit] Method 3: The Rice Sock
- Fill a sock with rice, or navy or kidney beans.
- For added sensation throw in some sage, lavender or amber before you microwave it.
- Microwave the sock for a minute or so, stopping mid-way to check and flip the sock over. Be careful not to burn yourself.
- Apply hot pad where needed.
