How to Make a Doll Bed

This will teach you how to make a perfect bed for a barbie or bratz doll.

[edit] Steps

  1. Cut your wood pieces to size.(measurements are in "things you will need").
  2. Make a rectangle with the 13 and 7 inch pieces.
  3. Glue the pieces at the corners, wait 5 minutes and then screw them tightly together. This is the main flat part of the bed. You will attach a headboard and legs to it.
  4. To make the headboard:
    • Mark the 5 inch pieces in one inch increments.
    • Allow one half inch to be used as "connection" space for gluing to the bed. The remaining 4.5 inches will divide in such a way that it makes 2 inch "legs" below and 2.5 inch "headboard" above the bed once attached.
    • Make Floral Wire designs on the headboard by twisting it in between the pieces.
  5. Use the last bits of wood for the legs at the foot end of the bed.
  6. Now stitch a mattress that measures 13 by 6 inches. Place it on the bed and use your extra fabric for blankets and pillows.

[edit] Tips

  • Sand your wood scraps smooth before assembling the bed.
  • Paint or finish your wood pieces before adding the bedding and mattress.
  • Try using a floral fabric for your mattress.
  • To stack them into bunks, just glue the wood.

[edit] Warnings

  • Be careful with saws and drills!
