How to Make Smartie Cookies
Everybody loves smarties and cookies, so why not mix the two? Follow these easy steps, and you too will fall in love with these delicious homemade cookies.

- 100g/3.5oz butter
- 100g/3.5oz light muscovado sugar
- 1 tbsp golden syrup
- 150g/5oz self raising flour (self-rising flour)
- 3 tubes of Smarties
[edit] Steps
- Set the oven temp to 160ÂșC.
- Cover the baking tray(s) in foil and grease.
- Put the butter and sugar in the mixing bowl, and mix with electric hand whisk until light and fluffy.
- Then, add the golden syrup to the mixture and mix again using the electric hand whisk.
- Pour one tube of Smarties in.
- Sieve half of the flour in.
- Stir both the Smarties and flour using a wooden spoon.
- Add another tube of Smarties and a tablespoon of flour and stir again.
- Continue until all the flour and Smarties are added.
- Take a small handful of mixture, and place on baking tray.
- Continue until all mixture is on baking tray(s).
- Put in oven for 10-15 minutes.
- Let cool. They will be soft when they come out of oven so leave for 15-20 minutes until hardened.

- You could use demerara sugar instead to make a more crunchy texture.
- You could change the ingredients from Smarties to cocoa, raisins, etc., or you could add a mixture of additional ingredients.

- Wear oven gloves when transporting cookies to and from oven.
- Wash hands before cooking.
- Tie long hair back.
- Wear apron.

- 1/2x baking trays (depending on size of cookies)covered with foil and greased on top
- 1x wooden spoon
- Electric hand whisk
- 1x tablespoon
- 1x sieve
