How to Make Rice Krispies Treats
A delicious sweet treat for anyone. Contains marshmallows, cereal and butter.
[edit] Ingredients
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 5 cups of mini marshmallows
- 5 cups of cereal
- olive oil or softened margarine/butter
[edit] Steps
- Put 1/4 cup of butter in a pot, and put on low heat.
- Add five cups of miniature marshmallows slowly as the butter is melting and stir together. The marshmallows and butter should become a creamy white thick fluid.
- Put five cups of cereal (preferably Rice Krispies) into a bowl and add the mixture to it.
- Mix together so that all the cereal is covered.
- Grease a large tray/cookie sheet and spatula with olive oil or softened margarine.
- Spread the cereal mixture on the tray and flatten with a spatula. You may need to repeatedly grease the spatula since the mixture will be very sticky.
- Let it cool to room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
- Cut into 12-24 pieces, depending on size.
[edit] Tips
- Any kind of cereal works. Rice cereal is the original kind, but Cocoa Puffs and Cheerios are also delicious.
- After you're done, maybe drizzle some melted chocolate or marshmallow fluff over it.
- If you add a packet of powdered pudding mix (i.e. banana, chocolate, butterscotch, etc.) you can come up with some very interesting variations on the traditional rice crispy treat.
