How to Make Real Swiss Fondue



Fondue is easy and delicious. It makes a great hearty start to a winter dinner party or is sufficient on its own as an informal meal if you provide lots of dipping choices. This recipe will make enough for four people.

  • 740g Gruyere cheese
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 loaf French bread

  1. Prepare the ingredients:

    • Chop garlic
    • Slice bread into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Prepare the fondue pan, spirit burner and fondue fork.
  3. Melt the cheese in the pan.
  4. Add garlic to cheese.
  5. Stick bread on the fork, dip it in the cheese and enjoy!

  • You can try dipping pineapple in the cheese; its tasty and good for digestion.
  • Drink hot/warm tea; its also good for digestion.
  • Add 1oz or 2oz of white wine into the cheese for a different taste.
  • Use 2 different kinds of cheese for a different taste, but it has to be melting cheese.
  • When you dip the bread in the cheese, stir the cheese with your fork to prevent the cheese from sticking at the bottom of your pan.
  • If you slice the cheese, it will melt faster.
  • Serve it nicely.
