Want to keep your cat motivated? Try some of these toys!

[edit] Steps

  1. Tie a piece of string to a small object, such as a ball with a bell in it, or a fake feather. Most things will work. Then either tie the other end onto something high, or just run around holding the free end. Most cats love this toy.
  2. Rip off a small piece of tissue paper. Put one or two cat treats in the center, then wrap the treats up in the tissue paper. Either tie a piece of string around it and hang it somewhere, or just give it to your cat. The treats can also be substituted by catnip (live leaves work best.)
  3. Tie a few pieces of ribbon, feathers, or anything else you can find to a long piece of string. Then hang / tie the string somewhere so that the feather/ribbon side is down.
  4. It's teaser toy time! This toy is very simple. Get something stick-like, such as a wooden dowel, then tie a string onto one end. Tie a feather onto the other end of the string. Now, pick up the stick-like thing, and wave the feather around your cat.
  5. Watch your cat play!

[edit] Tips

  • If you're using a teaser toy, lift it higher and higher as the cat gets more eager to catch the feather.
  • Try attaching several strings, each with a feather/ ball, to the main string, if making the first toy.

[edit] Warnings

  • Never leave the cat alone with a teaser toy. Cats may try to eat it and choke.
