How to Make Alloco

An Ivorian (Ivory Coast) native and well know meal favored throughout the African West Coast for its ease of preparation and its unique taste. Alloco is a perfect meal for any occasion at any time of the day.


[edit] Ingredients

  • 5 ripe plantain bananas
  • 2 tablespoon oil (palm oil is recommended, but any other oil will do)
  • Salt

  1. About 15-20 minutes
  2. Preheat oil in the frying pan
  3. Peel and cut the bananas into discs, cubes, or other geometric shapes you like
  4. Sprinkle the bananas with salt
  5. Fry the bananas until they turn golden brown
  6. Remove from oil and drain
  7. Repeat the process until all plantain bananas are fried
  8. Sprinkle more salt onto the fried bananas if desired and serve
