How to Look Good in a Month

Whether you want to be a model, impress the opposite sex, or just feel great about yourself, this is the only guide you need. Described here is an easy and practical way to improve your appearance in under a month. All it takes is some inner strength and determination.

  1. Eat healthy food. A good habit to get into is reading the nutrition labels. If it has a high saturated fat content, stay away.
  2. Get off of your bum and dedicate 15 minutes to a half an hour to daily run, or walk or bike if you can't run. As long as you are moving, it is good enough. Ask someone to do this with you so you will have someone pushing you do this.
  3. You also should consider spending some time on makeup (but don't go overboard). Carry a compact mirror, Chapstick/ lip gloss, a small brush, a small amount of makeup, and breath mints or sugar free gum.
  4. Get around 8 hours of sleep a night.
  5. Drink plenty of water. Carrying around a water bottle is a good idea. Learn how to drink more water everyday.
  6. Dress cleanly and impressively. Don't wear an evening gown to the park, or a tee and jeans to a wedding. Make sure you are happy with whatever you wear, don't be afraid to experiment with new styles, and make sure your clothes are clean. Don't look easy yet don't look like the minister's daughter. Wear clothing that flatters your figure, but stay away from the skin-tight. If you bulge out the top of your pants, they don't fit! Wear flattering colors -- usually the ones you feel best about wearing. If something doesn't look good on you, you won't look good no matter how trendy that item may be.
  7. Don't forget about accessories, jewelry and purses, are a great way to get compliments, and can turn a boring outfit into a hit.
  8. Smile. Buy whitening toothpaste and brush three times a day for a good amount of time, this may seem time-consuming, but you will be so glad you did it.
  9. Be Confident.Try to strike up conversations and be friendly, flash that new bright smile of yours and laugh.
  10. Get into a routine. Every morning improve your skin with the application of a body lotion on your arms, shoulders and legs and a facial lotion for your face and neck. Every night, shower using a quality shampoo and conditioner that's good for your hair, as well as a loofah and moisturizing body wash. Once out of the shower, moisturize with body lotion.
  11. Wipe your face with an acne pad once a day if you have acne, before applying the facial lotion. Acne pads are about $5 at Wal-Mart in the USA, and no more than a tenner at Tesco's in the UK, so get some. Use a cleanser on your face followed by facial moisturizer.
  12. Blow dry your hair or scrunch it if you plan on wearing it down. Have a good style picked out in the morning in a way you can wear your hair up.
    • For European hair go either straight or curly/wavy. If you go straight, make sure to use an anti-frizz serum and get a shine spray. A hot iron is your best friend. If you go curly/wavy, get a curl boosting mousse, apply it when your hair is wet and let the hair air dry.
    • For Afro hair try to stay away from relaxers that will damage your hair in the long run. And oh yes, be careful about doing your hair in an Afro, they can be hard to manage. If you're really desperate for long hair, remember that what Afro hair doesn't have in length in it makes up for in thickness, and vice-versa for European hair.
  13. Ask for opinions on your appearance from someone that is going to be honest about things that would make you more attractive, like a good girl friend or family member other than your mom. Be ready for an honest opinion, and don't get mad if you don't like what you hear.
  14. Keep your nails painted and your hands moisturized. Wear attractive and simple bracelets or rings to add a little something.

  • Wear very little or no make up during this process. If you eat healthy it will show, and save the time you spend in the mornings slathering your face with Maybelline.
  • Instead of spending a little amount on cheap clothing, take what you would have spent to buy 3 shirts, to get one really quality shirt that flatters you.
  • Give up smoking (do you want to die before your time?), and if you've never smoked then pat yourself on the back! Obviously, drugs are off limits.

  • Keep a healthy weight. Don't be overweight, but don't be underweight. Anorexia isn't pretty.
