How to Deal with Your Ride Not Showing Up
Let's say your parents forgot to pick you up from soccer practice. Anybody can freak out in this situation, but this how-to can help you stay calm and safe when facing something like this.

- Remember to stay in an area where your parents can find you.
- Look around. Is there anyone left that you know and trust that could help you contact your parents? If there is, you could try getting their attention before they drive off.
- Find a phone. This can be in a restaurant or gas station. Anywhere safe! When you find one, call a parent, and if they don't answer, call another relative or a friend's mom.
- Remember, in some towns, the police have signs outside homes they think are safe for kids and teens, so try and locate one of those. But even if you do see one, don't come in their house, no matter how much they insist. Just stay right outside, and ask the person to call for you.
