When dogs are bored, they can sometimes behave badly and somewhat
destroy the environment you live in. Here’s how you can prevent
your dog from getting bored and ruining your house.
- Make sure your dog has lots of toys and things to play with. If
your dog is still in his puppy stage and enjoys biting everything,
make sure that you keep a close eye on him while he’s playing, and
praise him whenever he plays with the toys, not your belongings
(furniture, gardens, lawn, etc).
- Take time out of your day to play with your dog. Playing fetch
with your dog is great fun and helps him burn energy, and gives him
exercise.
- Take time to take your dog for a walk. This will benefit you
and your dog because it's a fun activity and it's a great form of
exercise. Take your dog to the park or the beach. At the beach,
throw sticks for him into the water and let him retrieve them for
you.
- Training your dog will also keep him occupied, and give him the
chance to become closer to you, and trust you as his owner. Teach
him tricks as well as the basic commands (if it he still in his
learning stage).
- If your dog is allowed inside the house, simply allow him to be
with you. This will create a strong bond between the two of you,
and also allow him to trust you and stick with you when you need
him, etc. Thing such as letting him sit by you or on your lap while
you're watching TV, or letting him sit by you while you're doing
paper/computer work or homework. Talk to him so he knows that
you're not ignoring him.
- When you're about to go, send her in your room with a chewy toy
of hers, like a tennis ball, or newspaper to rip up (so that she
does not rip up any thing else around her).
- Put the t.v on so that she does not feel alone, and so that she
has something to watch. A dog channel is the best idea, even Animal
Planet is okay.
- Take her to the grooming place, so that she sees dogs and gets
to play around.
- If nothing works above, then simply stay with her, cuddle
watching lifetime, eating her and yours favorite snacks. There's no
problem with taking a day off to have a some quality time with your
best friend.
- If your dog seems like she's whining or crying, like when she
curls her flips into her mouth and whines. That's only because she
wants attention or is talking to you. And even though you might not
know what she's saying do it to her also. You know also whine to
her.
- If your dog growls when you knock on wood or something, she
only trying to protect you. If you want to train her not to do
that, simply say every time she does that NO, BAD.
- If you have two dogs or more, they can be fine playing together
because they have the company of other dogs. It is when dogs start
to feel lonely, they will seek your company and become bored. If
you only have one dog, you need to spend as much time with it as
possible.
- If your dog is teething, give him/her a chew toy.
