Getting Rid Of A Lisp...In Two Easy Steps

[edit] Steps

  1. Smile with your teeth
  2. Now talk with your tongue behind your teeth
  3. You only talk like this for a short period of time and then your tounge should get used to talking without a lisp!
  4. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! It might seem like a pain, But i will payoff! Look at yourself in the mirror or get the help of a friend of relative. Get them to give you words with the letters that you have difficulty speaking. Watch how they say it, then look in the mirror and say it the proper way.
  5. Speak slowly when you're speaking to others, and try to pronounce words the way you practiced. This is important, as when you forget you will have gotten so used to it, that you don't need to worry.
  6. It's okay to vent, cry about it. As long as you get right back up, and keep practicing. It won't be a miracle. It will require hard work and dedication.
  7. Believe in yourself. If you don't, there's no point.

[edit] Tips

  • Don't do this forever. It's worse than having a lisp. I would know.
  • make sure you're not practicing the wrong way. That will just make it worst.

[edit] Warnings

  • You may physically injure yourself while doing this beware and good luck!!
  • You will get discouraged multiple times. Just take a break and keep on going!
