How to Earn Money By Running a Restaurant at Home (for Kids)
Do you want to earn money but you are too young to get a job? Read this! Run a restaurant in your home for your friends!
[edit] Steps
- Set up several dinner tables inside of your house. Clean it up and put out plates, forks, and place mats.
- Create menus for the food you are going to serve, and price them reasonably. Reasonably means add up the total cost of food, and then take the total, add a few bucks, and divide the cost between dishes. Some easy recipes that you can make are cheese biscuits, salads, sammies etc.
- Put fliers all around school advertising your restaurant, and also give them to your friends and family. To make the fliers you can buy scrapbook paper and decorate it, or use computer paper or anything you like; just make sure they catch peoples eye! I don't recommend you put them all around town because there are creeps in town and inviting them into your home is NOT safe.
- Put the name of your restaurant and an "Open" sign in front of your house.
- Set up a front desk right near the door and tell customers to make a reservation. Reservations cost money, but make sure they don't cost too much.
- Seat them at a table. Give guests time to look at a menu. Put a bell near their placemat so when they are done looking at the menu you can take their order.
- Cook what your customers ask for (with the help of your parents).
- Bring the person his/her food after it's done.
[edit] Tips
- Don't ask for tips as this will be a turnoff to people.
- Remember to serve foods that a lot of people will like that aren't too hard to make; if you get a lot of people making all of their orders will be difficult!
- Alternate between types of music like country, classical, hip-hop etc.
- Most important: have fun and enjoy the money you earned from your hard work!!!
[edit] Warnings
- ASK YOUR PARENTS FIRST
- Don't price it too high or else you won't really earn anything.
- Running a big restaurant is hard. Start out slow.
- Make sure an adult is supervising and helping you. Don't cook by yourself.
- I'm going to say this again, don't put fliers around town.
