I have some concerns. Ripping DVD's is illegal, universally so and punishable not just by your region, but by Interpol as well. therefore, this is worthy of the tag.

To address someone's above concern about the legality of ripping DVDs, it is perfectly legal AND useful to rip a DVD I created myself from my own camcorder, therefore this vague little how-to violates NO moral or legal code.

Go to Windows Media Player and go "file" then "open..." then find the files and open them. Well this worked for me at least.

The Dvd Decrypter software is discontinued. Instead you can use its follower ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/).

This sentence needs to be re-written:
It is not legal to copy DVD's for any and all purposes.
Change it to something like:
It is not legal to copy any DVD for every purposes.
because it depends on the dvd. If i make my own dvd from my own footage, then it IS legal to copy the dvd for ANY and ALL purposes. Or if i pay to have a dvd made, then the same would apply as well.

I know this isn't a chat forum but i would like to take the movie i ripped and put it into itunes to later be placed on my ipod. The problem is the recommended software spits out multiple files instead of one. Does anyone know how to change it to one file?

I bought a DVD and tried to back it up, so I could preserve the original and just play the copy. My backup produced two folders that don't play. One folder is called "Audio_TS" and contains no files. The other folder is called "Video_TS" and contains three "Video_TS" files and eight "VTS_??_?" files. How do I convert these files and folders to something I can play?
