This is an informative article that should be of help for people looking to build a their own computer for the first time, or a person like me who has not built one in the last 5+ years and has not kept up with everything.

Yes, it is difficult to keep up with changing technology, even with something simple such as video cards and which one to buy. It's no wonder the market is confused when we've switched from PCI to AGP, AGP 2x, 4x, 8, PCI-Express, and now PCI-Express 2.0 in the course of around 10 years. Let alone CPU sockets and RAM that have changed even more so over the same period of time. It's good to keep up with things, but only those with a passion for hardware bother doing so because everyone else is concerned about it only when they upgrade. Learning all of this on fly before being able to upgrade is a lot of information to process at once.
