Everyone knows what it feels like not knowing what name to choose for their character or town. You already know a "Sarah" and "Tony" and "Detroit" is an unoriginal town. But how can I make another name? Well here are a few methods to find an answer to that question.

Choose a word. Any word. It could be the name of a country, city, or just a plain old object. So lets say that I chose the word Dinosaur. I write down the word backwards and then start adding letters and taking away letters. Like this- ruasonid-rusonid-rusonid-rusoni-rusondi-rusondia. Now you have the name of a city, state, person, or language all you have to do is decide!
The Scrabble method. Once again take the first word that pops in your head. Rearrange the letters in the word you chose (using Scrabble chips is handy for this). Baseball-lasebabl-labesalb-labeslab. Another great name!

Use long words for the first method; this gives you more to work with.
Longer words work better for the first method, while shorter words work better for the Scrabble method.
