How to Create My Links on wikiHow

Do you rely on having quick access to specific links not generally found on wikiHow? It is easy to add some links and the code for some of your more often-used templates to your left hand column. This column will show only on your own login, and will help you to find these places and templates more easily.

[edit] Steps

  1. Log into wikiHow.
  2. Go to your user page.
  3. Add "/Mylinks" to the URL and view this new page. Here is an example.
  4. Edit the new page and enter in a bulleted list of new links using an asterisk(*), for example:
  5. Your new list of links will appear below "Editing tools" in the left column.
Here is an example of its location, and what it could look like.

[edit] Tips

  • If you want to add a templates section to your column of mylinks, be sure to surround your template codes with the nowiki code. Put <nowiki>before the code you type and </nowiki> after, and this will make your code show as something like {{nothanks|reason}} rather than as the actual pictorial template.
