How to Clean an Outdoor Gas Grill

The outdoor grills should be cleaned after every use in order to maintain them and to be considerate of others in the building that use them.

[edit] Steps

  1. When finished grilling, set the temperature to high, cover the entire grill surface with a piece of aluminum foil, close the cover and let it burn until the smoke stops, about 10-15 minutes depending on the amount of stuff on the grill.
  2. Eat your feast.
  3. Turn off the grill, remove the foil.
  4. With minimal effort, brush off the remaining ashes on the grill. It is clean.

[edit] Tips

  • Set the kitchen timer for 10-15 minutes to remind yourself to turn off the grill.
  • If there is just a small amount of stuff left on the grill after cooking, just wipe it with an old burlap bag rather than burning it off. You can reuse the burlap, but keep it in a Ziploc bag to keep the bugs out of it.
