How to Celebrate St George's Day

St Georges day is celebrated every year in england on the 23rd of April. It is England's national day and is the biggest nationwide holiday that is celebrated in the country. There is not a set way to mark the day, but this guide will give you some ideas on what you could do.

  1. Determine How do you want to celebrate St Georges Day? There are lots of things you could do, and each and every one of them is a great way to celebrate England. Remember, on this day, Some other popular choices include:

    • Going out for a meal with family members or friends. Be sure to order your favourite meal, it is St Georges Day after all. You can also socialize with other families or groups who are also celebrating.
    • Organizing a fun activity for you to do with friends or family members. These include things like bowling, going to see a movie, or maybe even paint balling. Not only is this a fun way to celebrate St Georges Day, some of these activities, like paint balling, can help you with things such as leadership skills.
    • Relaxing at the beach. You can bring lots of people here and there is something for everyone. You can just sunbathe, go swimming in the sea, or, for the sporty kind, you can even play beach sports! Popular choices here include Cricket, Tennis, Ping pong and Football, but you can play other sport's if you wish.
    • Hosting a barbecue. This is a great way to celebrate as you get both great food, and you get to have a good time with other people! Try and get as many people as possible to come, as this will maximise enjoyment. Make as much food as you want, as this means that everyone gets more! If you want to add a bit of English tradition to the barbeque, Cook English food!
    • Attend an official event such as a concert. Lot's of big name bands will be there, it will possibly be free and there will lot's of entertainment. There may also be autograph sessions with musicians, and there will be merchandise on sale. Sometimes there ar eeven free refreshmants! If you want to make things more enjoyable, bring someone you know. They can help you out in certain situations, and they will keep you company.
    • Go to a fireworks display. These spectacular events can be enjoyed by everyone. There will usually be a big fireworks display late in the evening, at around 10pm. However, do not let this put you off hosting your own! Just make sure you know how to use fireworks safely, and make sure you have enough money to do so.
  2. Dress up in English style. If you do not have anything to wear, even something that has red and white on would be great! For the people that love to dress up, why not buy an English knights costume? Anything that represents England in any way is fantastic. Even a sports shirt will do!
  3. Go and visit another city in England

    • Visit the capital, London. London is very likely to be hosting a massive fireworks party if the weather is good. There is also big parades during the day. Don't forget your flag! London will also be able to cater for your every need during the day. With thoushands of amazing shops, bars, clubs, hotels and much more, you can enjoy St George's Day in style. You could also consider visiting one of London's many tourist attractions, like the London Eye, and the Tower of London.
  4. Fly the English flag with pride You can buy a small flag to put on your car, or buy a bigger one to put on a pole. You can even make a flag cape. Wear it out on the street if you like! Make sure that EVERYONE can see the flag. This show's people how much you care about England. Keep the flag clean and well looked after.
