Dalmatians are dogs that are from Dalmatia (a province of Croatia). They are famous for being associated with firemen, the Dodie Smith novels, and the Disney movies. They also make great pets.

[edit] Steps

  1. Train your dog. (Don’t forget to reward him/her when they do it right).
  2. Find a good veterinarian who is familiar with Dalmatians. (See warnings)
  3. Buy your dog the right type of food.
  4. Get a toy. Try to take your dog to a store and show them what you think they would like. Squeak toys in front of them.
  5. Buy a bed or blanket, unless you are letting your Dalmatian sleep on your bed.
  6. Make sure to provide a food bowl and water bowl.
  7. Take your dog out for regular exercise (a walk).

[edit] Tips

  • You might want to neuter your dog.
  • Dalmatians usually have blue or brown eyes, if your dog has a blue and a brown eye, it does not matter.

[edit] Warnings

  • Dalmatians are often deaf and need special care with their ears.
  • Dalmatians can get kidney or bladder stones! Try to not feed them animal by-products
  • Pay attention to your dog! If they are acting differently, whining, or not urinating, consider rushing them to your vet.
  • Don't train your dog on your own, find a training class.
  • If your dog gets bladder of kidney stones, your dalmatian will need expensive medication, such as allopurinol.
