How to Care for Pierced Ears
Caring for newly pierced ears isn't nearly as hard as people make it sound.
[edit] Steps
- Resist the temptation to touch your ears once they get pierced.
- When necessary, make sure your hands are clean (wash them with anti-bacterial soap) and do not take out the earrings. The hole may bleed, but don't panic, it is normal.
- Remember, your body thinks that this is a wound.
- Clean your ears with a cotton ball soaked with antibacterial wash, NOT alcohol. Gently wipe away any dried blood as you can.The person or company who pierced your ears should provide you with a non-Alcoholic Ear Cleaning Solution. And repeat twice daily for about a month.
- When infected, do NOT take the earring out!
[edit] Tips
- Don't change your earrings too early. Only take them out when the person or company who pierced your ears says it is okay to.
- Repeat this procedure twice daily. This is very important.
[edit] Warnings
- If your ear gets infected, continue to clean it. If the infection persists, see a doctor.
